Once there was this kitten that was chasing its tail. It just chased it and chased.
An older cat came along and he watched this kitten. He asked the younger one, “Hey brother, why do you chase your tail?”
The younger kitten replied, “Because I try to find happiness in my tail.”
The older cat said, “I, too, used to chase my tail because I thought I would find happiness there. But I realized that I didn’t need to chase my tail for wherever I went it seemed to follow me.”
And the old cat got up and walked away with his tail following behind.
If you pursue happiness, it will elude you. But, if you focus on your family, your friends, the needs of others, your work and doing the very best you can, happiness will find you.
